 How do I apply for the CCC Scholarship? The CCC Scholarship application will be available November 1, 2008. More information about the scholarship program can be found on CCC’s website at www.cccscholarships.org or you can e-mail apply@cccscholarships.org.
How do I become a member of CCC? To receive updates and news regarding CCC membership, please sign up for CCC’s newsletter. In the coming months, CCC will be launching a unique online community on its website, which will require membership. Membership will be limited so please stay tuned for its launch.
Is it required that I become a member of CCC to apply for the scholarship? While it is not necessary to become a member of CCC to receive the scholarship, we strongly encourage that students interested in survivorship and our organization join our online community.
When is the CCC Scholarship application deadline? Complete applications are due by June 1, 2009. An application is considered incomplete until ALL required materials have been received by the organization.
May I submit materials both online and by mail? Yes. However, we strongly encourage all applicants to contact the Scholarship Director at apply@cccscholarships.org to confirm that all materials have been received. Only complete applications submitted by the published deadline will be considered.
How old must I be to apply for a scholarship? Is age of diagnosis a consideration? Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 25 on the day of the scholarship deadline. Applicants must be diagnosed with cancer prior to submitting application--age of diagnosis and state of disease (i.e. active or remissive) is not a consideration.
May I submit three personal recommendations in lieu of an academic recommendation? No. CCC requires an academic recommendation so the scholarship committee can understand how the student performs in a learning environment. An academic recommendation is an essential component to the decision making process.
Are international students eligible for the CCC Scholarship? No. Unfortunately, we cannot award scholarships to international students at this time. Sorry!
May past scholarship recipients re-apply? No. Past scholarship recipients are not eligible to re-apply. However, we do encourage past recipients to join our Scholarship Alumni Network so that they may see the lasting benefits of being a CCC scholarship recipient.
